CROSS COUNTRY
On Wednesday, 4 August, our cross country team travelled to Rocklands Sports Club for the zonal trials. It is a great achievement to make it to this level. Well done to Kirsten Roodman and Aidan Gorton who made it through to the Western Province trials, which took place on Saturday 14 August at Pentech.
JUDO RESULTS FROM MISS BUTCHER
- Well done to Joshua Caradoc-Davies, Aidan Gorton, Luc van Houten and Daniel van Houten who competed in the Boland Open held on 17 July. They competed well and were a wonderful credit to their school. At the same tournament, the following seven players also competed and were selected for the provincial team travelling to Johannesburg in September for the Nationals.
These players are:
Ethan Chaston
Tristan Moore
Ronin Fairfull
Jarod Fairfull
Jonathan Wickham
Bryan le Roux
Dylan Tromp
Tristan and Dylan have also been selected to do Kata at the Nationals.
- A fundraiser was held at school last week for these boys during Judo time and I would like to thank all the Judo parents who so generously supported them. Thank you - the response was fantastic.
- On Saturday 7 August, Tristan Humphreys and Cameron Tromp competed in their first Judo competition. Both boys competed well and won medals - well done boys! At the same tournament Jonathan Wickham also competed being placed 4th in a very tough section. Ronin and Jarod Fairfull competed in the age category above their own where they came 2nd (Ronin) and 3rd (Jarod) respectively. Well done boys!
