NATIONAL TEACHERS AWARD
Congratulations to Mrs Ashley who won the reginal National Teacher's Award. She won the category "Excellence in Primary School teaching". She will enter round 2 of the competition to find the candidate from the Western Cape to compete on a national level.

JACQUES ROSSOUW - jacques@mkdsa.co.za I left KPS in 1997. Being ambitious I decided to study Degree in Accounting Science through UNISA. I then did my Honors in Accounting Science. Am currently working as an accountant, ultimately I hope to go the CA route. As an aside started writing and have had a few articles published in various places.

KELLY LODEWYKS: 1994 to 2000.I work as a motoring journalist for CAR Magazine. I was in the following teachers classes. Grade 1: Mrs Sandenberg, Grade 2: Mrs Oelefse, Grade 3: Ms Tembe, Grade 4: Ms Nicol, Grade 5: Mr Wilson/ Mrs Peacock, Grade 6: Mrs Ashley, Grade 7: Mrs K. PIA HAMBIDGE (SMART) Hello. I was a Grade 3 teacher at KPS from 1998 to 2001. My husband, daughter Tyla and I have been living in Warfield,Berkshire, England for 7 years now. We have a new addition to our family, a baby girl, Ceri, born on the 15/12/07. I have retrained in Montessori education, and now teach at Meadowbrook Montessori School.

JONATHAN TIDDY Greetings to everyone at Kirstenhof Primary School from Sydney Australia, my name is Jonathan Tiddy.  I was a pupil at Kirstenhof from 1985 to 1989, when I left South Africa to live in Sydney, Australia.  During this time the principals were Mr Lane and Mr Emslie.Sub A - Mrs Glover, Sub B - Miss Stranex, Standard 1 - Miss Trollip (Mrs Shardlow), Standard 2 -  Miss Chapman, Standard 3 - Mrs Henderson (school's librarian)

I played rugby – scrumhalf position.  I enjoyed the Friday evening games under the school's floodlights. I left KPS to attend SACS in Newlands for Grades 8 -10 before leaving at the end of 2008 for Queensland, Australia. I am still playing rugby - scrumhalf - for Uni, setting my sights on playing one day for Queensland Reds. My sister is Kathleen Cooke. Kathleen and mom were active in Mrs Janet Robson's Environmental Club and really miss those walks/hikes/weekend outings.  Kathleen is now in Grade 9 at Mountain Creek State High School and plays Netball (school), Hockey (Rebels Hockey Club) and Cheerleading (Fun & Dance Studio).
